To a Traveler.

The path you take will lead you to your grave.
You navigate a winding road ahead.
There is no going back for come what may
a spider must let out her precious thread.
You wasted days, you squandered months and years
in taking things and wasting all you took.
The story of your life it now appears
was just a page in someone else’s book.
You’ve passed the spot upon which Frost did stand.
You’re older now and journey’s end is near.
His forking path met young girls and their plans.
Few painless routes do travel out from here.
New voyagers must set out as old ones fade.
Tomorrow soon must turn to yesterday.
