Antonia will post the best rondeau.
There’s something in the way she makes them flow
around her mood so form cannot be seen -
her whisper has more power than my scream
yet I’m compelled to have another go.

I’m bound to end up looking like a schmoe,
outdone by that poetic so-and-so,
that mistress of all formal verse, our Queen -
Antonia.

I gave up competition long ago
and though I hoped my lesser gift might grow
no evidence of progress has been seen.
