White Shark

The street is alive again
and I need some water
some bread and a bottle.
I left you sleeping on the steps
of the exchange and
propped a sign about your neck
that said
Caution: Great White
and hoped that would fend off the
bums and drunks who got too close.

I'll be back before the dawn
when the real monsters come
circling.
